Perks
Perks are benefits which are not usually "official" benefits but are considered beneficial.
Many semiconductor design companies offer such things as free coffee, free Coke/Pepsi, reduced-cost or free cafeteria meals, and other small perks. Some companies take it to the next level by providing company vehicles, paying you an extra several hundred dollars for a "car allowance" each month, providing paid sabbaticals, buying computers for employee homes, offering on-site drycleaning and oil changes, and other goodies.
These perks range very widely between companies and since the year 2000 downturn in the industry, many companies are on the skimpy side with perks, but they are still out there especially if you have skills which are in high-demand.
